Welcome to Grey Towers National Historic Site

<Grey Towers was the home of Gifford Pinchot, founder and first Chief of the US Forest Service. Located in Milford, Pennsylvania, Grey Towers was completed in 1886 by Gifford's father, James Pinchot, a successful businessman and philanthropist. Today Grey Towers offers, trails, various wayside exhibits, free visitor films, conference and meeting spaces, free parking, visitor center, gifts shop, and ticketed museum tours.
As stewards of Grey Towers, we perpetuate the leadership and conservation legacy of Gifford Pinchot and the Pinchot family.
2025 Tour Season Information:
Grey Towers National Historic Site is offering ticketed self-guided tours of the first-floor museum from noon until 3:00pm starting in April. Our expanded tour season will begin running Fridays through Sundays starting on April 25, 2025, through May 19, 2025. The full 2025 tour season will begin on Friday May 23, 2025, running through November 2, 2025.
Ticketed self-guided tours will be offered Fridays through Mondays from noon until 3:00pm. Staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the museum to enhance the visitor experience.
Public tours will not be available on May 10 & 16, and October 25, 2025, due to events taking place inside the museum.
Tickets can be purchased in person on the day of the tour at our visitor center located in the historic Letterbox starting at 11:30am. Our gift shop, operated by our partner Grey Towers Heritage
Association, located in the Letterbox and will be open from 11:00am to 3:00pm on tour days. Vehicle gates are open daily, weather permitting, from 9:00am to 4:30pm. Free visitor films are offered in the Baitbox from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Pedestrian gates are open from sun-up to sundown for extended access to our amazing trails.
